About Warwick Frankham
Warwick Frankham has been attending Māpura Studios for about 13 years, and loves to paint both in the studio and at home in his bedroom.
“I used to like to draw crosses and chimneys. Now I like to draw policemen with the hats and the sportcoats. I like coming to Māpura Studios and I used to do art with Miss Grundy at school”. Warwick also likes to draw aeroplanes.
Crosses on the doors inspire my art. Crosses on houses mean that people, such as my mother and grandmother) have passed away.
Oh it’s good…doing it properly, I enjoy it, they told the church man, the man with the black hair told me not to sing, don’t you ever get smart, he’s not a very nice man at all, the man with the black hair.
She was another one, crying yesterday….Tammy was wild. I should have gone home with my sister, Peter said keep away from her…”NOW TELL me about the police man?” with stripes on, I like police man pink colour to green, he’s got a hat on, he keeps me safe.”
