Young Adults Creative Therapy
This programme is specially designed for young adults, ages 18 to 25, who want to connect with their peers while making art.
The focus of this art therapy group is socialisation through engagement in a group setting.
Belonging and sharing common experiences are very important, so the art therapist encourages interaction and conversation. Topics are pertinent to life as a young adult; relationships, finances, living conditions and increased independence.
Both the art tutor and art therapist explore creative skills and artistic development with the participants. Common themes can be a wonderful subject matter for art, with the results being innovative and creative. Participants will also gain confidence and social skills to apply outside the studio.
A supportive and safe environment is provided to foster sound and healthy relationships. The artists are encouraged and guided in how to share and explore their creative ideas, with conversation and creative interaction between group members taking place.
Young Adults Creative Therapy is tailored to the individual needs and abilities of each person in the group.
