Studio Practice
If you have some experience with making art, Studio Practice could be the class for you.
The artists in this class are self-directed – you choose what you’d like to work on and how you’ll do it. If you have a brilliant idea for an artwork, then go for it!
Many of the Studio Practice artists are dedicated in researching themes for their work, they explore new ideas and ways of working, in the studio and at home. A lot of their work reflects their personal experiences and unique perceptions of life.
You’ll be encouraged to find and develop your own style, and you’ll be introduced to elements of contemporary art practice.
The tutors are there to help you and to realise your personal artistic goals. You’ll be encouraged to put together a portfolio of your work. This helps you keep track of your development as an artist, and artworks may be chosen from your portfolio to sell in our online store or include in a gallery exhibition.
Companionship and sharing ideas and creative processes is important to Studio Practice, and so is knowing that you’re successfully producing work that has meaning for you. As in all our programmes, it’s also very much about the sheer enjoyment of the creative process.
