Allyson Hamblett
Allyson Hamblett has attended Māpura since 2002 and joined the team in 2006.
‘I never knew I could draw, let alone paint. I thought I’d come along and see what it was like.
My style has changed over the years, and I like to paint portraits and urban scapes. I love trying to create perspective and depth. It still amazes me how one can turn a piece of canvas into something you feel like walking into.
I now work as a Disability Advisor for Māpura Studios.”

Allyson Is currently co-chair of the Local Advisory Committee of CCS Disability Action Auckland and was on the Board of Auckland Rainbow Community Church Te Whare Karakia Āniwaniwa ki Tāmaki Makaurau from 2020 to 2023.
She has written 3 books, including “My Art Journey with Māpura Studios”, a book that showcases 20 years of artwork.
