Mi1htyM8n
The artist I am interviewing today goes by the name Mi1htyM8n.
Mi1htyM8n has been attending Mapura Studios since 2018. The artist particularly likes photography, abstract painting and spray painting. The artist has a strong faith and belief in God, and this inspires his art practice.
The artist attends Open Studio One on Monday mornings.
Our Open Studios classes are dynamic learning environments allowing artists to develop their creative skills and art activities. The art tutors and therapists encourage the artists to be self-directed, to explore personally meaningful themes and content in their work and develop their own unique style.
You’ll be encouraged to discover new ways of expressing yourself, introduced to new media – whether it be paint, charcoal, pens or print making – and to tell your own story using visual imagery.
The Open Studio group environment is a friendly and supportive community, a mixture of creativity and therapeutic outcomes.

Mi1htyM8n does photography and drawing at home. He does some photography Māpura, but mostly at home. It all works to support his art practice.
The artist exhibited work at Open Day last year and helped prepare for the fashion show by spray painting peoples clothes but had also set up his spray painting station for the day.
“Mapura is happy place where I can be creative and make a mess. It’s a kickback and chill place”, says the artist.
